Steven Loi - The Product Guy

In order for me to continually become better at my profession and be successful, there are skill sets I need to learn or build upon. I think the biggest obstacle to learning is starting. So, I've made it an effort to book time in my calendar where I spend a chunk of time learning fundamentals and working on tutorials to enhance my knowledge in product, design, and frontend web development. Occasionally, I will want to document areas of analytics and customer development, and learnings from work that may be applicable here. These skills will help shape me to be a better, smarter business and product owner.

Here are some specific areas I aim to focus on:

1. HTML - Course refesher in understanding how to write clean code.
2. CSS - Inline (for e-mail) and styles.
3. Photoshop - Tutorials on design using a grid system (helps with keeping things organized)
4. Photoshop (Part 2) - Proper use of contrast and colors.
5. Slicing - Turning PSDs into images for the frontend coding to happen.
6. Github - Get an account and learn how to use it. 
7. Hosting - Looking to solicit help from my good friend on this one.

I'll post some of my work through my tutorials. End goals are: Improve my hands-on product skill set, use the technical knowledge to drive product discussions among business folks and engineering teams, and gain credibility among the new wave of tech-entrepreneurs.
